Come visit our booth at the Maine Boatbuilder's show, March 16, 17 & 18 at the Portland Company Complex. http://www.portlandcompany.com/boatShow/ ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES This course, taught by the United States Power Squadron, is designed for all boaters, but is especially useful for people new to boatingor who have not taken a boating class before. Topics include compass use, charts and aids to navigation, course plotting, piloting anchoring, adverse conditions, rules and required equipment. Upon successful completion of the Safe Boating course, you may qualify for a marine insurance discount. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Instructor: Dave White Location: Falmouth Middle School, Room 52-53 Date: Wednesday, March 14 - May 9 (No class April 18) Time: 7:00- 9:00pm Fee $9 res/$11 non-res Session: 8 Classes At the first night of class, a $40 lab fee due for a manual, plotter and divider. Checks can be made payable to USPS. Two people from the same home may share materials. For more information email info@portlandhead.org The United States Power Squadron’s (USPS) Boating course teaches seamanship, boat handling, boat types, rules of the road, navigation aids, regulations, adverse conditions, marine VHF radio, knots, trailering, and introductory piloting. This course meets state-specific and National Association of State Boating Law Administrators requirements for certification and most insurance companies accept completion of the course. The course includes a book, training charts, and basic navigation tools. No class on 4/17. Tuesday 7:00 — 9:00 pm Starts: April 3 Ends: May 22 7 sessions Gorham High School Fee: $45 An experienced USPS instructor will teach this course.
